Ing. Ettore Lambertini.
					( Bologna 29th March 1861 ? -
					Bologna 13th October 1935 )

					Notwithstanding the fact
that he is quoted as one of the major exponents of
“Stagione del Liberty” the Season of Liberty in Bologna and
in Marche region, we have a few and contradictory news about
his professional life. There are uncertainties also about
his birth date: maybe on the  29th March 1861,  whereas the
necrology indicated the previous year. The place where he
was born is certain: Bologna. As well as  the fact that he
was an engineer, although there is no trace of him in the
Board of Engineers in the province of Bologna, because
probably he had already retired when that order was
established. As an engineer, he worked mainly in Bologna.
He designed some buildings in collaboration with Attilio
Muggia and realized the Casa Sanguinetti in via Irnerio.  Ettore
Lambertini is to be inserted in the  architectonic trend of
Liberty style in the Bologna area, to which he gave his
great contribution with different projects realized
downtown. Some small villas  in viale XII Giugno and all the
villas on the area of the ancient walls are his work.

					He is
indicated as the author of the project for the Institute of
the University of Bologna (1887). He was also a member of
the Town hall, as responsible of public works (1911 about),
then in  Pesaro where he worked as a designer and urban
counsellor for the Municipality. He never moved to Pesaro,
but he realized there several public buildings, some of
them, like Perticari school and the Institute  “ex Bramante”,
are still existing and perfectly kept.

					About his
working in that town, there are some documents in the
municipal archive and in the Oliveriana Library.  Lambertini
published a very interesting essay in 1916: Note e proposte
per l’ordinamento edilizio di Pesaro, from which we can
understand how ample was his mandate as a counsellor for the
Administration. Out of sure, there are three proposals that
can be attributed to him: the Sea Plant, two designs for the
restoration of the “ghetto” and for the Market. We are sure
also about his collaboration with Edoardo Collamarini for
the conversion of the former church        “ Saint Dominic”.
The last document with his signature, found in the
Historical Archive of  Bologna, is a proposal for the huge
in progress hotel in via Boldrini, dated 3rd May  1927. He
died in Bologna on the 13th October 1935.
