Lionne, Enrico (Napoli 1865-1921)

The pseudonym  of the Italian painter and  illustrator Enrico della Leonessa . He studied in Naples and in  1885 he settled in Rome, where he was an illustrator , while cooperating with several newspapers  (Giornale di Roma, Capitan Fracassa, Don Chisciotte, ecc.). He started to paint towards the end of 1800 according to the techniques of divisionism, and doing his best in the scenes of middle class life  (I grassi e i magri, Roma, Galleria Nazionale d'Arte Moderna; L'attesa, 1919, Novara, Galleria d'Arte Moderna Giannoni,).
